Das Deutsche Fachspezifische Ergänzungswörterbuch (DFEW) enthält ca. 81.000 Fachbegriffe aus Mathematik, Physik, Chemie, Life Sciences, IT, Technik, Industrie, Geowissenschaften usw. Derzeitige Schwerpunkte sind Mathematik und Physik. Die Benutzung des DFEW setzt voraus, dass auf Ihrem Rechner bereits das de-DE-frami-Wörterbuch von Franz Michael Baumann installiert ist, da das DFEW nur solche Einträge enthält, die in de-DE-frami fehlen. Beachten Sie bitte, das neuere Openoffice.org-Versionen standardmäßig mit dem de-DE-frami-Wörterbuch ausgeliefert werden. In diesem Fall genügt es, lediglich die DFEW-Erweiterung zu installieren.

German Specialist Supplemental Dictionary (DFEW) contains about 81,000 terms from such fields as mathematics, physics, chemistry, life sciences, IT, engineering, industry, Earth science etc. Currently, the bulk of the entries relates to mathematics and physics. If you want to use it, you have to make sure that you have already installed the de-DE-frami dictionary by Franz Michael Baumann, as DFEW contains only terms missing in de-DE-frami. Please note that newer Openoffice.org versions have de-DE-frami dictionary installed by default. In this case it is enough to install only the DFEW extension.
