01/11/2009 - 08:39

OOo extension (.oxt)
Release Notes:

Changes to 0.6.1:
Graecise won't automatically put accents in front of capital Vowels (except the capital Rho) since this causes Problems words beginning with a diphthong, such as Europa.

Other news:
I created a project page that explains the use of Graecise and how to modify it a bit better. Mind you, it is not ad-free. Sorry about that.
Graecise Website

As the macro is open source you're free to change it to fit your needs.

Please rate the extension if you like it (and if you don't; but I don't hope so) - I'm open to suggestions on how to improve the macro.

In order to properly use this macro you need a Unicode font with all necessary letters.
Examples:

Deja-Vu (free)
Linux Libertine (free)
Athena Unicode (free)
Arial Unicode (newer Windows/ MS Office versions have it)

And this is how it works:
You write a word in Latin characters, run the macro and the text will be converted to Greek.
Conversion scheme is quite straight forward - more so if you used Beta Code before.

Not so obvious letters are:
c becomes xi
q becomes theta
w becomes omega
y becomes psi
