Microsofts SharePoint Server provides a single workspace for teams to organize documents and participate in discussions. The Oracle Connector for SharePoint Server makes Oracle Open Office or OpenOffice.org the perfect SharePoint client and adds the support for the ODF (OpenDocument) file format in Microsoft SharePoint Server.

The Extension allows users to search, browse, edit or check-in/out documents that are stored in the SharePoint Server. It also extends the server front end to load documents with Oracle Open Office and enables the SharePoint Server to search within ODF documents.

Note: Only the 32 Bit version of the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Service (WSS 3.0) and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007) are supported.

Oracle Connector for SharePoint Server is part of the Oracle Open Office Enterprise Edition and not free.

Proceed as following to download a trail version of the Connector for OpenOffice.org 3.2 or newer. The trail version is not limited in functionality and valid for a 30 days test period.

• Complete the Export Validation process by entering basic identification information (ex. Name, Company, Email Address, etc.) into the online form.
• On the Media Pack Search page, specify as Product Pack "Oracle Open Office" and as Platform "Windows (32 Bit)".
• Choose the media pack 'Oracle Open Office 3.2.1 Enterprise Edition Media Pack for Microsoft Windows part number B59359-01. Download the Oracle Open Office Enterprise Tools (all platforms). Once you download and extract the contents of the required zip files, select the Connector in the Extension folder. Proceed with the software installation as described in the setup guide.
