While we have made several improvements to the commercially available EuroOffice Dictionary Professional, we have somewhat neglected the free version for a while. This release however catches up with the commercial version!

• It is now localized in 7 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Hungarian. (The user interface and help pages are localized, but it still only includes French, English and German dictionaries.)
• A number of bugs have been fixed.

The update is recommended to everyone, but especially to those who use OpenOffice.org in German, French, Spanish, Italian or Polish (the newly supported languages) or those that have encountered bugs in the extension.

Please note that if you have installed new dictionaries or modified existing ones, you have to save them before installing the update, or they will be replaced with the originals! Please read the 1.4.1 release notes for more information.

New in version 1.2:

• The scrolling bug (OpenOffice.org would keep jumping back to the text cursor when you tried to scroll) has been fixed!
• Lookup is now slightly faster. It was quick enough already, but now it is immeasurably fast.
• Asynchronous, on-demand loading of dictionaries complete with a progress bar.
• Hungarian help file brought up to date with the English one.
• A few other bug fixes.

How to update?

Due to a bug in the OpenOffice.org Python loader (fixed in OpenOffice.org 2.4), you can not use the integrated update mechanism. You will have to manually remove the old extension, download the new extension and install it. If you have installed any custom dictionaries, you will have to install them again. (Sorry.)

We have however found a workaround for the bug, so if there is a version 1.3 in the future, you will be able to update using the Extension Manager. (Unfortunately we can not use the workaround to properly update version 1.1.)
