Our latest release comes with a number of minor bugfixes and a solution to the long-standing issue with custom OpenOffice.org builds of several Linux distributions. Now works with OpenOffice.org 2.4 from the Ubuntu repository!

Two major changes come with version 2.1:

• World map and a map of the United States are now included. This brings the number of included map databases to four: countries of the world, Europe (down to NUTS3), the United States and a detailed map of Hungary. With the updated EuroOffice Map Tools you can import custom maps from SVG or Shapefile formats.
• Sun Report Builder interoperability makes it possible to automate the creation of map charts in database reports. This powerful feature is now included in both the free and the professional versions. A detailed guide for taking advantage of the interoperability is coming soon, but experienced users of the Sun Report Builder should already be able to use it based on the example (in ODS) (or view the resulting report (in PDF) if interested).

A number of bugs have also been fixed, so it is recommended for all users to upgrade.

EuroOffice Map Chart Professional 1.3 is now localized to English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Hungarian. The localization includes the user interface elements (menu items and dialog boxes) and the help content. The OXT file contains all the localizations and will pick which one to use when you install it, to match the language of your OpenOffice.org installation. If you use OpenOffice.org in a language that is not among the above seven, English will be used as a fallback.

The first release of EuroOffice Map Chart Professional comes with a user interface and help pages in either English or Hungarian. Localization to French, German, Italian, Polish and Spanish is underway and will be included in a future (free) update.
