Kichwa spellchecker. This spellchecker tries to follow the Shukllachiska (unified) Kichwa spelling. The Kichwa academy has released some material on the new Kichwa spelling and grammar.

NOTE that until Openoffice version 3.2 (expected around november 2009) you have to set the language of the document to NORWEGIAN (BOKMÅL) to activate Kichwa spellchecking. This is because "Kichwa" simply isn't an option in the language list selection box. Update: Revision 273188 includes Kichwa in the language selection box. It was added 21 jun 2009. :)

If you're using a pre-3.0 version of openoffice and can't upgrade to 3.x, download the package clicking the GET IT button, then open the downloaded oxt file with a zip program. Then copy the files qu_EC.dic and qu_EC.aff into the:
/usr/share/myspell/dicts directory (linux), or
C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org\%VERSION NUMBER%\share\dict\ooo\ (? windows)

You also have to edit the dictionary.lst file found in a directory near the ones mentioned, to contain

DICT nb NO qu_EC

then restart openoffice including the quick starter. For further help on manually installing pre-3.x-openoffice dictionaries, see this page.

To set every new document to start out with kichwa spell checking, have a look here. The template only works for openoffice.org version 3.2 and above.
