Impossible to uninstall
Trying to uninstall the Date Browser I receive a couple of error messages. All are something like:
Add Extension(s):
General input/output error while accessing
/home/username/.openoffice.org/3/.../zKNAIj_/riess_date_browser.oxt/Jobs-xcu
Firstly, the message was that ../zKNAIj_/riess_date_browser.oxt/Jobs-xcu does not exist, so I created it. But now the above error occurs.
Ignoring the messages seems to uninstall, but the Menue ".riss" remains.
What can I do to get rid of the extension, totally?

RiessDateBrowser.oxt - is it missing?
I have the same problem as Eva below: The "RiessDateBrowser.oxt" file does not show up after unzipping the downloaded file.
Who can tell me how to install the extension correctly?

Open up OpenOffice. Click on Tools. Down near the bottom of the list is Extension Manager. Click on it. The extension manager box opens up. There is a add button which you click on. Next you will have to find out where you downloaded it too. The rest you should be able to figure out yourself.
Wrong download link?
When I press "Get it!", I am sent to this download-page: http://www.riess.de/EN/?mitte=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.riess.de%2FEN%2Fcenter%2F...
Here I find just one Download-link. This downloads riess_Date_Browser.zip. When I pack up this file, it is not containing the RiessDateBrowser.oxt needed for installation.
Where can I find it?

Does not work
On OX5 iMac this extension does not work. It puts 2 shortcut buttons into the system (why you'd need two I can't even guess at) but neither works.
If you want to delete the extension make certain you disable it first, or it will cause OpenOffice3 to crash.
OOO Issue ??
We could reproduce your bug on borrowed mac hardware (Mac Book pro - Leopard) and getting an error like:
Apple AWT Java VM was loaded on first thread -- can't start AWT.
java.lang.InternalError: Can't start the AWT because Java was started on the first thread. Make sure StartOnFirstThread is not specified in your application's Info.plist or on the command line
and did some researching with that information. The recognized behaviour of our extensions seems to be caused by issue 92926 of ooo issues.
Sorry for that, but it is not in our influence, when this would be fixed.
